Requirements of a Texas State Car Inspections
During a vehicle inspection and emissions test, the Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas mandates that certain items be inspected and verified. Additionally, they issue inspector credentials, a fact that Central Texas Auto Care takes pride in maintaining. Annual inspections are a bit like physicals at your doctor’s office where various major components are inspected to ensure they are all in working order.
Texan regulations require that our qualified technicians adhere to a strict checklist of required items. To renew your vehicle’s registration, you will need to provide proof that your vehicle’s annual safety inspection was passed. Testing requirements vary depending on the type and year of the vehicle.
According to the Texas vehicle emissions inspection and maintenance program, only designated emissions counties are subject to emissions testing. Unless your vehicle has passed the annual emissions inspections or otherwise complied with the inspection program’s requirements, you will not be able to renew your vehicle’s annual registration.
